Halloween Frocktober finale

I made it! Frocktober comes to a close and I'm super excited with all the donations that came rolling in today. And what a lovely pic to end on. Some random kid walked and happily joined in the pose.

What I wore today: printed mini-dress (Tina Kalivas from Alice Euphemia), black leggings and black patent wedge boots.

I'm expecting a few donations to come in so I will make my $1500 target. A big thanks to everyone who made a donation over the past month; and especially those who donated today - Tamar, Ita, Alex, Tamir, Cheryl and a whopper donation from Anna. w00t!! It's not too late to donate so if you want to support a worthy cause - Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, click the link below: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug

I hope you loved the frock pics over the last month. I've had a few contributors but my main stylist/photographer has been @urbanjin. She has done a wonderful job (pho date payment is coming soon).

The City of Boorandara also rates a mentions. While I loathe your parking inspectors with an undyng passion, I'm surprised by the various locales I've managed to find in such close vicintiy of my work. *snaps* to you.

Au revoir Frocktober!! Bonjour Movember.

Merci beaucoup.

Last Frocktober Weekend Celebration ♥♥

Woo hoo! Last days of Frocktober!! What a blissful weekend. Sudoku, reading, some chores, dining, TV watching, kitty cuddles and pizza making with my ♥ Mr Bug. We also had the most delicious brunch date with @marcusmoments and @starinmelbourne. Do yourself a favour and head to Chez Dre. Best. Breakfast. Platter!

What I wore Sunday: black dress, black leggings, riding boots, black long sleeve top, brown belt, coat and hat. Winter decided to pay us another visit so basically I was trying to keep warm on a cold Melbourne day.

What I wore Saturday: Grey jacket, black and white tee, denim skirt and pink shoes. Mr Bug also bought me this cute bag for my golf clubs so now I can accessorize when going to the driving range. ;-)

I'm now at $1175 so need a few more donations to get me home. You can make a donation to Frocktober for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, click on the link below and make a pledge: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug

Last Frocktober hump day

And wasn't it a tough day for fashion. I tried on 3 dresses before I settled on this gorgous Leona Edmiston leopard dress. Unfortunately another couple of dresses have been culled from wardrobe due to a weight gain over the past year (trying to ignore this). But... Doh!! Gonna make the last few days very tough!

What I wore today: leopard dress (Leona Edmiston), black opaques, gold chain neckace (Bondi markets) and black pumps.

Close-up of my matching nails
Thanks to my friends James, Albert, Clint, Jane, Shannon for their genrous donations. I've made it to $700 now I gotta keep pushing on through.

What I wore today: dress (Halsinky), red belt, black opaques, black heels and the can't-go-anywhere-without-it umbrella. I also had a black velvet jacket today which I took off for the pic.. committment to the cause peeps!

Weekend living ♥ ♥

Today was my busy outdoor day while yesterday was my busy indoor day. Today I went to the market, hit 50 balls at the golf range and then spent the rest of the day on a beer nerd fest providing "emotional support" ...ok company while our friends Dereck and Diti made American Pal Ale.

For busy indoor day, I vacuumed, did 6 loads of laundry, washed dishes and finally sorted the bomb site also known as my home. A fine martini after a day of chores was a lovely way to end the day.

What I wore today: military style dress (Gorman), yellow belt, grey sandals and borrowed a cute little puppy called Remus who kept me company on a little walk.

What I wore yesterday: white and blue dress, red and white scarf, red heels (only for photo).

Thanks to Diti and Linda for their donations. Now I'm almost a third of the way to my target with just over a week to go. Better get a move on and rustle up some more donations. Click on the link below and make a pledge: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug . All proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

Why this isn't exactly cheating on Frocktober...

So there are 10 days to go until Frocktober ends and I'm becoming a little like Jesus; instead I'm trying to turn 5 dresses into 10.

Now you may argue that I'm wearing are shirt today... BUT this a shirt dress (see what I did there). Plus I'm of the leggings-are-not-pants faith so I would never be caught wearing my legging as pants unless I'm exercising (so hardly ever, right?). Furthermore if Mr Bug leaves a shirt lying around at my place, my kingdom, my domain I can do with it what I choose... in this instance, I team it with leggings, boots and accessories and call it a shirt dress. w00t!!

While this look was pieced together in desperation, I kinda like it and will be wearing it again. Mr Bug may have to wait to get his shirt dress back. ;-)

10 days to make donation. Click on the link below and make a pledge: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug . All proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

I ♥ Stripey Frocktober

Leg less
I ♥ this dress! I bought it a few weeks ago but this is the first time I have worn it. Fits nicely, perfect for warm days and so comfy. Have I told you I LOVE IT? Don't be surprised if it makes a reappearance.

What I wore today: striped dress (Urban by Target) with sandal wedges. And sneaky little paparazzi shot of my shy kitty, B'Elanna.

Big shout out to Kirsten and Hank for their generous donations!! Woo hoo... close to $400.

Starting the countdown - 11 days to make donation. Give a gal a hand. Click on the link below and follow the prompts: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug . All proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

White hot Frocktober summer ...almost

Today was warm. A glorious sunny Melbourne day. A perfect day for snoozing in the sun; too sunny to be stuck at my desk editing and writing copy. My brain is mush so this post will be short and sweet.

What I wore today: grey sandals, white dress (borrowed from Melody) and a green cardigan (op shop find).

I'm over the half way point so that means there are less than 12 days to make donation. Get busy people!! Click on the link below and follow the prompts: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug . All proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

Stay tuned for more frocks!

Beer and bikes for Frocktober

A beautiful day in Melbourne calls for an evening out. Tonight we're on our bikes and off to The Local Taphouse for Alestars; a night of beer tasting, delish food and good company. What more could a gal ask for?

So what I wore today: vintage floral frock, yellow belt, bronze wedges and black jacket. Today's style was a little inspired by one of my favourite characters from The Slap, Anouk.

Since I'm at Alestars, I raise my glass to toast my lovely friends Jocelyn, Louise and Carol for their donations. Cheers ladies xx.

Alestars live cross to chat beer with Garrett Oliver

If you want to donate just head to the site below and follow the prompts: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug ... and in case you didn't know all proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

Stay tuned for more frocks!

*Amended*
I didn't get a chance last night to say how great the Alestars speak was. Garrett Oliver was fascinating, and despite the technical hiccups that made the session extend way past 10pm, he was enthralling to listen to. Yay!! Now I just want to catch zzZZzzzZz under my desk :P

Monday dreams and nightmares during Frocktober

Monday morning started off most awesome. I was on a tram heading to Camberwell with @PatriciaDodd and Britta from Community. Valentino and Lilian Frank came on board with Xmas presents for us all. Britta got a dictaphone which was perfect for her since she's going to be a journalist. I got two presents. And they were personalized.Yay!!

My morning then took a turn for the worse because:
A. I woke up to find it was all a dream *sad face*
B. My first alarm didn't go off so I was in a mad rush for work *panicked face*

So in my haste what does one wear to work? Black, of course.

What I wore today: black smock with tie (ASOS), black and white fishnets with black and white heels.

Now here's the deal people. I stress each morning about what to wear and then blog about it; you then make a donation and show your support for Frocktober and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. It's simple, go to http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug and follow the prompts.

Now show me some $ugar ... the donation kind ;-)

Precious Frocktober Weekend

After a precious start to the weekend (read: hungover), I have two outfits to show you. One from a warm Spring Saturday and today's four-seasons-in-one-day-but-predominantly-cool.

What I wore Saturday: red dress, yellow belt and grey sandals. Granted I stayed in my PJs for most of the day but I did manage a trip to Big Boy BBQ - a new Texas style BBQ place in Caulfield South. Yum!

What I wore today: Cooler weather was back again so the black leggings made another appearance. Teamed with long sleeve black tee, black velvet jacket, digital print denim skirt (Romance Was Born) and the most awesomeness red riding boots (The Frye Company). Perfect outfit for a trip to Mornington Peninsula Brewery.

Hope you can make a donation and show your support for Frocktober and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Please visit http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug.

Bed time now zzzzZzZz. Have a great week and I look forward to the donations rolling in.

Friday Stripes Frocktober

In a battle of spots versus stripes, stripes would always win out in my world. It's just a classic look. After 2 weeks of frocking, Melbourne finally gave us a warm day and I think everyone went a little loopy. I finally got to wear a summer-y dress that didn't require opaque tights and layering.

What I wore yesterday: navy blue and red stripe maxi dress (Urban by Target), brown belt and bronze wedges.

Thanks to Don Draper for his donation to the Betty Draper inspired cake. If you would like to make a donation and show your support for Frocktober and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, please visit http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug.

Have a fantastic weekend all!!

Watch out Betty Draper, there's a new frock in town

Meet Beverley. She's the delicious chocolate mud cake I made for today's Cadbury Bake-off at work. Like Betty Draper and her BFF Francine, Bev & I should have spent our time sipping martinis rather than painstakingly hand sewing the bodice and adding ♥♥ to the gown using chopsticks.

I regularly bake for the office so I had to up the ante to not lose my crown as Baking Queen.

What I baked: The recipe itself was simple enough. It's a chocolate mud cake from the newly established Cadbury Kitchen website (one must "test" client products, right?). I didn't alter the cake ingredients and stuck to the recipe. I must say the combination of the 1 1/2 cups of coffee and Cadbury Dark Baking chocolate was nomtastic. Had I not been required to deliver a cake to work, I may have happily sat with a spoon and finished off the cake batter. Mmmm chocolaty coffee goodness.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

But I did tweak. Rather than using a square pan, I used a Dolly Varden cake tin. Who knew you can hire these things? I did require more cooking time than was specified due to the shape of the cake tin. As a result, the edges were a little dry for my taste. Overall I was pretty stoked with how the cake tasted and looked. I can't wait to test this baby out on a standard size square tin. Yummo!!

Now back to business. What I wore today: white collar skirt (Brave), full circle skirt, pearls (not real *sigh*) and black/grey heels.

A lady must serve tea with baked treats

I Spy Frocktober

Inspector Gadget was a favourite show as a little bug so it gave my great pleasure to swan about in my faux-detective outfit today. No big case was cracked nor were any spouses caught having extramarital affairs. Best I get back to the office and drown my sorrows in a bottle of scotch then (#clichesaresorelevant).

What I wore today: trench wrap dress (Dizengoff), tights, and burgundy ankle boots. How cute are my boots?? ♥ ♥ Love them!! ♥ ♥

To make a donation and show your support for Frocktober and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, please visit http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug.

Tomorrow we're having a baking competition at work. I've decided to tweak the recipe a little so it's frock-themed. Wish me luck on my baking and cake decorating adventure.

Can't wait to see how my frock dress turns out :-)

What I wore today: red shirt dress (Leona Edmiston), nude Mary-janes and my specs (I was blinded by an eyelash - no joke).

Day 10 Frocktober

Another week, another Monday, another frock. And more rain. I'm squinting in this shot because it started to rain. No time for another pic though. Doh!

What I wore today: black dress with white piping (Jolet), opaques and black shoes with white trim. I love this dress even if I'm often accused of being a Collingwood supporter in this get up.

So I'm a little bummed I've only managed 3 donations since I started Frocktober and am well short of my target. Where's the love peeps? Dudes and dudettes, please support this fantastic cause. Head on over to the link and follow the prompts: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug. Pretty please.

My goal tomorrow is to ditch the black look. Watch out!!

Weekend Frocktober

Mr Bug is a keen golfer. I'm not. Although we've been talking about hitting the Albert Park Driving Range. Sorting a frock outfit was a little difficult especially since I had to work around the pink flat shoes (Mr Bug's recommendation for adequate golf shoes). Plus it had to serve as dinner wear.

I have to admit, I was pretty happy with the outfit once the necklace was added. And I was super excited to not be totally crap at golf. I managed to connect with the ball, hit reasonably straight and hit over 75 meters fairly regularly. Yay!! We're planning another golf date soon :)

What I wore for Saturday golfing: black knit dress (unknown), grey tights (Target), hot pink shoes (Top Shop) and necklace (not sure of brand but was purchased in the Flinders Street Station underpass - fantastic shops down there).

Unfortunately winter is back and today was chilly market run day. South Melbourne Market are also right near my fave breakfast spot. I've been heading to Chez Dre without Mr Bug so it was time to take him there. Deliciousness ensued, followed by my grocery shop.
What I wore today: black and white stripey t-shirt (Urban by Target), denim pencil skirt (Ojay), leggings, black patent boots and black velvet jacket.

So I've managed a full week of dresses (and skirts) and now must rally friends and readers to get on board and sponsor me. You can make a donation at http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug. Give generously - Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation is a fantastic cause.

Stay tuned for week 2 of frocks.

What I wore today: printed wrap dress (Very Very), blue beads (no idea) and nude Mary-janes (RMK Shoes). See close up of print below:

Now it's almost beer o'clock so I hope you enjoy a happy dance too. Yay!

Casual Thursday Frocktober *sad face*

RIP Steve Jobs
Traditionally Thursdays are my go-to jeans day. I usually hit the wall and go with jeans due to lack of outfit inspiration. Today was no better so I opted for a denim skirt instead.

Casual Thursday took an unfortunate turn with the news of the passing of Steve Jobs. It's terribly sad to hear that he has lost his battle against pancreatic cancer. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

His passing certainly brings home why so many of us are participating in Frocktober. According to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), “one woman dies every ten hours from ovarian cancer in Australia.” We're still losing far to many loved ones to cancer every day. Hopefully our silly little escapes in frocks (and skirts) can help shed some light on this and also raise funds for research to prevent further loss.

What I wore today: striped tee (Urban by Target), denim skirt (Portmans), black leggings (Target) and riding boots (The Frye Company).

Please visit http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug and make a donation.

Stay tuned for more frocks.

Diving into Day 5 Frocktober

My new approach for raising cash-ola for Frocktober is to redefine street-style photography to more bug-style photography. What do you think of my new style? I quite like the face-plant :P

What I wore today: vintage floral dress (little store near Hawthorn station), ♥ ♥ ♥ my black jacket without back panels (Ellison from Alice Euphemia), black leggings with lace trim (Mazi) and green ballets (Tony Bianco shoes).

Closer detail on frock & shoes xx

OK now for the fun stuff! Head on over to http://www.everydayhero.com.au/girlbug and show your support... pretty please.

Stay tuned for more frocks.

PS - thanx muchly to @AGLoveShoes for their donation. w00t!!
